Where are you located?

We are conveniently located at 3773 W. Brown Road in Piqua. We serve pets and their owners in Miami and Shelby counties and the surrounding Dayton area.

What types of animals do you care for?

We care for dogs, cats and other smaller pets such as rabbits and hamsters. We do not provide services for birds, snakes or exotic pets.

Our flexible payment options include cash, checks, credit cards, shelter certificates and coupons as well as care credit, an extended 6-month, interest-free payment option for those who qualify.

Emergency care

What should I do if there is an emergency?

If you have an emergency during our regular office hours, there is no need to make an appointment. Just bring your pet in right away. We are fully equipped to provide emergency care including X-rays, IVs, surgery and trauma support.

What if I have an emergency when your office is closed?

When our office is closed, we have a partnership with Care Center as well as MedVet (formerly Dayton Emergency Vet Clinic) to provide emergency care at any time, day or night.


Do you provide surgical care?

Yes. Surgeries are performed by our experienced vet staff. Your pet’s comfort is a top concern and we provide pain management, as needed, with IV or oral pain medications.

What types of surgery do you provide?

Some of the most common surgeries and procedure we provide include:
  • Spay/neuter
  • Front declaw for cats
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Tumor/soft tissue removal
  • Eye surgery


What if my pet needs specific vitamins or requires a special diet?

At Oakview Veterinary Hospital, we have a fully stocked pharmacy right here on site for your convenience. It includes a host of nutritional programs, multiple brands of veterinary diets, probiotics, vitamins, supplements and animal care products for specific conditions and stages of animal growth and health.

Dental care

Do you provide dental care?

We can provide dental cleaning and polishing. We can also perform extractions. To maximize your pet’s comfort and help speed recovery time, extractions are done under general anesthesia, antibiotics and pain medication administered as needed.

Why is dental care important?

Oral health is an important part of your pet’s well being. Bacteria in the mouth can travel to other areas of the body and cause illness or even organ damage. Fractured teeth can cause pain and reluctance to eat. So it is important to make sure your pets teeth are clean and in good condition.


Can I board my pet at Oakview while I am out of town?

Yes. With a staff member dedicated to caring for our boarded animals and exercising them at least twice a day, we provide personal attention in a caring and loving environment that is clean and safe. And with both indoor and outdoor runs, there is plenty of space to play and be active.
Our boarding services are for already-established patients that are current on vaccines and free of contagious disease. We can accommodate family groups and daycare boarding services are also an option. Please call at least a week or two in advance of your boarding needs and as far in advance as possible for boarding during holidays.


Does my dog/cat need to be vaccinated?

Our veterinary staff is happy to talk to you about the best vaccines for your pet’s needs. We provide all routine vaccinations including recommended kitten and puppy shots and any specialty vaccines your pet may need.
